Renowned Actor Pat Finn, Famed For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
American entertainer Finn, who featured in popular television series including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in LA recently after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, per reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a message.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive Television Career
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a social organizer who would assign burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His film credits include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote on social media.
Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
