Fans Demand Detainment of Person Who Touched Ariana Grande
Loyal supporters of the actress are calling for that a person who breached a fence and grabbed the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good debut be arrested or deported from Singapore.
A widely shared video depicts the Australian man bypassing media personnel and rushing toward Grande while the actors made its way down a event pathway surrounded by fans.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the surprised performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the event by security officers.
Mr Wen stated on Instagram recently that he was "released after being detained", though court documents showed that he was due to appear on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was faced legal action.
History of Event Invasions
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram account contains videos of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney concert in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the city last December.
"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is obviously a legal violation," commented an Instagram follower, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user questioned.
Followers Express Concern Over Grande's Past Trauma
Many fans criticized Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed dealing with PTSD after a devastating incident at the conclusion of her 2017 performance in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring hundreds.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented another comment on Instagram.
A number of fans also criticised event staff at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals demanded online networks to block Mr Wen's videos.
Response and Premiere Information
In clips circulating online, Grande appeared startled when she was approached by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.
Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.
Numerous of fans had gathered in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore venue, including several who had stood in line for as long as a significant duration before it began.
The motion picture, to be premiered on November 21, is the sequel of a two-part version of the well-known stage production Wicked, which centers on the surprising relationship between two very different characters.
The production itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink sparkling outfit at the premiere while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.
They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.
The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and scored a dozen Oscar nominations, securing a pair for outstanding attire and production design.
